The Allahabad High Court has dismissed a plea seeking a stay on the release of Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi’s film “Jolly LLB 3” due to its song “Bhai Vakeel Hai”. The petition alleged that the song defamed the judiciary and mocked the legal profession. However, a Division Bench of Justice Sangeeta Chandra and Justice Brij Raj Singh concluded that there was no merit in the allegations, stating that they found “nothing objectionable” in the song’s lyrics.

The court thoroughly reviewed the lyrics of “Bhai Vakeel Hai” and determined that they did not warrant any interference, as they did not impact the practice of the legal profession by genuine advocates. This decision comes as a relief for the film’s makers, who had previously faced legal challenges. In May 2024, the Ajmer District Bar Association’s president had filed a complaint against the film, claiming it depicted judges and lawyers in a “humorous and indecent” manner.

Despite this clearance, “Jolly LLB 3” still faces legal hurdles elsewhere. A Pune court has issued notices to Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi following a complaint filed by a lawyer, arguing that the movie portrays the legal system poorly and mocks judicial proceedings. The film’s anticipated release has garnered significant attention, with fans eagerly awaiting the courtroom comedy-drama franchise’s latest installment
