Nepal is facing a worrying situation after severe flooding swept through several parts of the country, with 590 foreign nationals reportedly missing. Nepal’s Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal said nearly 300 of those missing are Indian citizens, many of whom were travelling as part of the Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage.

The scale of the disappearance has raised concerns among families and authorities as rescue and search efforts continue. The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra attracts thousands of pilgrims each year, with Nepal serving as an important transit route. The sudden floods have disrupted travel and communication across affected areas, making it challenging to establish contact with those still unaccounted for.

Authorities are working to assess the situation and locate the missing travellers, while the incident has highlighted the vulnerability of pilgrims and tourists to extreme weather events. As search operations progress, families across India await updates on their loved ones, hoping for safe reunions amid the ongoing crisis.
