The Union Budget 2025, the second full budget under Modi 3.0, will be presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament at 11 am on Saturday, February 1, 2025. This marks a historic milestone as she becomes the first Finance Minister to present eight consecutive Union Budgets, surpassing Morarji Desai’s record of six.

With a strong emphasis on economic growth and fiscal discipline, Budget 2025 is expected to introduce significant reforms, particularly in taxation and the agriculture sector. Speculation is rife about the potential phasing out of the old tax regime and the introduction of zero income tax for individuals earning less than ₹10 lakh annually. Strengthening the agricultural economy remains a key focus, with increased financial support, modern technology integration, and improved pricing policies for farmers.

The budget is also expected to strike a balance between fiscal consolidation and growth, especially amid rising inflation concerns. Investments in infrastructure, digital transformation, and employment generation will be prioritized, with increased allocations towards AI, semiconductor manufacturing, and 5G expansion. Additionally, sectors such as healthcare, education, and renewable energy are likely to receive a boost.

As India strides toward its $5 trillion economy goal, Budget 2025 is poised to lay the foundation for sustainable development, economic resilience, and global competitiveness while ensuring financial stability.
