Authorities investigating the tragic death of Ketan Agarwal at Lohagad Fort near Pune have uncovered disturbing details regarding alleged statements made by the accused, including references to marriage pressure and inability to escape matrimonial circumstances. The investigation has revealed an extraordinarily complex conspiracy involving a fiancée and her secret paramour allegedly plotting together over seven months to eliminate the young businessman.
Ketan Agarwal, Chief Marketing Officer of Success Group, a family-run real estate business, was engaged to Siya Goyal, 20, a second-year BBA student, in February 2026, with a lavish destination wedding planned for November. However, Siya was secretly involved in a relationship with Chetan Babulal Choudhary since November 2025, and viewing Ketan as an obstacle, the duo spent seven months plotting his elimination, exchanging over 2,004 phone calls totaling 238 hours.
The meticulously documented conspiracy involved multiple calculated attempts to orchestrate the victim’s demise. Siya allegedly hid Ketan’s passport at the airport to sabotage their pre-wedding photoshoot in Bali, which Ketan’s father had reported to police as suspicious upon inquiry. Then on June 14, she allegedly attempted to push him during a visit to Lohagad Fort, but when Ketan managed to save himself by grabbing a cliff-side bush, Siya covered her tracks by screaming about a fake snake and hugging him.
The tragic climax occurred when Ketan ultimately fell from the fort, an incident that police investigations have determined involved suspicious circumstances. Both Siya Goyal and Chetan Choudhary have been arrested on charges of murder and criminal conspiracy, initiating formal legal proceedings against them.
Ketan’s father, Vishal Agarwal, met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, urging that the accused receive at least the death penalty, with the CM assuring him that the case would be fast-tracked and confirming an Special Investigation Team has been formed.
Siya’s lack of grief following her fiancé’s death raised flags for investigators; however, after the case became public, Siya shared an emotional Instagram story stating, “You left me on my birthday. You left when we were so close to getting married”, attempting to construct a narrative of devastation that conflicted with her alleged involvement in his death.
The case has exposed disturbing realities hidden beneath social media presentations and wedding planning, revealing how digital communication records and behavioral inconsistencies ultimately exposed an extraordinarily calculated conspiracy. The investigation continues examining motives, communication patterns, and the psychological dynamics that allegedly motivated this tragic outcome.
